ZOMG! Pray?! No Way! Repent of This Nonsense You Christofascists.

Last night, 17,000 19,298 people joined Senator Jim DeMint and me on the telephone to talk about several Senate races.

Talking Points Memo makes this the lead story this evening. And what is one of the key take aways?

Yours truly asked activists to not just donate to candidates but . . . wait for it . . . to pray for candidates too.

Scandalous.

See the screenshot of the headline, but just to clarify — it was conservative activists we were talking to.

Scozzafava Campaign Goes After Me. Subtly.

Well, I guess I am having some sort of impact. If I wanted validation, I guess I have it from the Scozzafava campaign. Humorously, the interview is with the Los Angeles Times.

See here:

“Her positions on a lot of issues are reflective* of the electorate here,” said Matt Burns, a Scozzafava spokesman. “If the idea is that every Republican that runs for office needs [to be] someone who fits in Georgia**, then it’s going to be very, very difficult for Republicans to gain a majority in the House of Representatives.”

Hmmm . . . I wonder why Matt Burns would be talking about Georgia.

It’s raining down here today in Macon, by the way, but it’s still bright outside. That’s either the flaming, stinking mass of Scozzafava’s campaign going down in flames, or the sun rising again on the GOP as Hoffman sails into the lead. Either way, I’m happy.

By the way, I guess being smacked in the mouth by the Weekly Standard taught the Scozzafava campaign a bit of civility in their attacks.

*I think Matt meant refractive, because where I’m sitting 81% of the district has turned away from Scozzafava.

**Or the campaign could be so dysfunctional and clueless right now that they think Newt is backing Hoffman.

I Have Arrived!!!!!

Friends, I have arrived. If ever you doubted that I am somebody, we now have definitive proof brought to us by the Southern Poverty Law Center. They list Sean Hannity, Chuck Norris, Glenn Beck, Rick Perry, and me as examples of prominent voices on the right stirring up the next generation of Timothy McVeigh’s.

Apparently, daring to be critical of government and pointing out the right to defend yourself against tyranny is too much for the SPLC, which has taken a formerly proud history of fighting racism to whole new planets of absurdity.

But, I have arrived!

I’ll be on Hannity at 9:30 p.m. ET tonight

If you get bored tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET, you can tune in to see me on the Great American Panel on Hannity.

Consider this an open thread.

Yeah it's about teh Twitter. That's how I roll.

Teh Twitter.

Once felt dumb to email about phone calls. Then came blogging email. Then tweeting blogs. And now, I’ve CALLED about tweets. Circle of dumb.
9:59 PM May 2nd from TweetDeck

… and now I’m blogging about calling about tweeting about blogging about emailing about calling … sigh.

Twitter had a lot to do with the successful pushback on the Playboy article and the Letterman “jokes”. It has helped drive a number of big stories the last two weeks. Like it or not folks, it’s here to stay. Well, for a while at least. It’s also a great way to keep up with what Redstate is doing and to annoy the snot out of @markosm. If you’re in the Redstate Army, it’s also a great way to track alerts. Resistance, in other words, is futile. You will be assimilated.

This is an OPEN THREAD. Feel free to use it to pimp your Twitter feed. See below the fold for my own recommendations.

Teh Twitter - Open Thread

YOU HEARD ME

Teh Twitter. Yeah. I’m hip. What of it?

Let me tell you something about Twitter. Despite the many humor blogs you’ve seen written, most people on Twitter are not sending Tweets (yes, that’s really what they are called … sigh) highlighting every mundane detail of their lives. “About to eat chicken” … “Eating Chicken” … “Done with Chicken” … “Remember the part where I was eating the chicken? That was awesome” … this is not, some of you may be surprised to learn, what Twitter is all about.

Twitter is a fast moving environment for commentary and to share articles, news, links, photos and essentially a snapshot of what’s happening on the web and in the world, in brief but sometimes enlightening or hilarious bursts, which don’t allow for too much embellishment, too much verbosity, or too much pompous over-stylizing of the way in which one speaks and communicates what thoughts or above-mentioned links which they may be trying to share.

In other words, no sentences like the one I just typed.

If you aren’t familiar with Twitter, the first thing you’ll need to do is set up an account. Go ahead, I’ll wait. Now that you are on teh Twitter, you want to start following people. The way to do this is to go to their @twitter address and click on FOLLOW under the name. Easy! Now if only you knew WHO to follow … (cough @CalebHowe cough)

Following the right people is the key to enjoying Twitter. To that end, I’m going to make some suggestions. As this is an Open Thread, discuss what you will, but I invite you, in the tradition of #followfriday, to share your Twitter recommendations. (If you aren’t familiar with hashtags ask in the comments.)

The Atlanta Tea Party Just Got Bigger

April 15th was going to see a big tea party in front of Georgia’ Gold Dome, but it just got bigger.

Tonight on Fox News, Sean Hannity intends to announce that he’ll be live from Atlanta that evening covering the Atlanta Tea Party in front of Georgia’s State Capitol Building.

He’s asked me to be there with him. I’m looking forward to it.

If you’re interested, be at the steps of the Capitol in Atlanta by 6pm on April 15, 2009. We will make sure the nation hears that we’re sick and tired of out of control government, both from the Democrats and the Republicans.

Olbermann and Kos Nurse Wounded Pride

And Caleb Howe Enjoys Chat With Ed Morrissey and Jim Geraghty.

In today’s installment of “How did THAT happen” I had the pleasure of joining two of my favorite writers, NRO’s Jim Geraghty and Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey, for a debate about the ongoing ‘journolist‘ story, of late the topic which prompted Keith Olbermann and Markos Moulitsas to laugh and joke casually and in a non-lame way last night on Countdown. If you didn’t catch the video, it sorta sounded like this:

Keith: I’m not on the list are you on the list Kos?
Kos: No I’m not on that silly list. See my smile? This is all so silly.
Keith: It’s silly right? Stupid list. I don’t need their stupid list.
Kos: It’s just a conspiracy theory. Nobody is doing anything. It’s silly! I’m smiling, did you notice that? It means I think this is funny.
Keith: No, yes, I totally noticed. Hang on, I’m doing a funny voice.
Kos: Of course the right really does do that.
Keith: Oh they totally do. They collude.

Kos and Keith continue to say the list is innocent and this is all silly. Much smiling occurs. They aren’t on the list, but that’s fine. Their feelings aren’t hurt. They haven’t the time for all those pesky emails anyway, what with all the smiling at one another on the schedule.

RootsHQ 2009 Announced

It's Our Turn

This September, Tennessee will host a one-of-a-kind new event for right of center online activists. In other words, for people like we Redstaters. RootsHQ 2009 is going to be a way for all of us who blog, twitter, facebook, digg, and generally reach across the web with conservative and free-market ideas, to explore the future of online activism on the right.

As online activists, we blog, we network, we organize, and we generate ideas and excitement. This environment, as we have all learned, is a new and absolutely vital part of grassroots organization and mobilization going forward.

Now we have a chance to share our ideas and experiences, and to design our path ahead. We are right online, we are the right online, and we are going to talk about doing it right, online. RootsHQ is a tremendous opportunity for networking and planning. Here’s an excerpt from the site:

Social media, new media technology, internet marketing, search engine optimization, collaborative information movements and NOW media are all on the agenda for RootsHQ 2009. We’ll have some of the brightest minds of the right on hand to dig deep into each topic, and you’ll be invited to take part in the conversation as we explore ways to further the free-market movement online.

The closing event will feature the must-see presentation “State of the Right Online” presented by Erick Erickson. You may have heard of him? Saul Anuzis is a confirmed speaker, along with Mike Krempasky, Eric Odom, and even Caleb Howe (aw garsh). There will be a special video presentation by stimulus-battle rock star, Congressman Eric Cantor.

September 18th and 19th, the place to be for the online right is Nashville, Tennessee. Well quit dawdling! Click on the image and get your early bird pricing!

Update: If you plan to attend let everyone know in the comments, as Moe Lane, bs and EPU have done. Dudes! Moe. Lane. Sign up now!
